HIGHLIGHTS

Samsung unveils Project Moohan XR headset at MWC 2025, aiming to rival Apple’s Vision Pro with multimodal AI and extended reality.

Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2, the headset features an external battery with USB-C support for larger battery packs.

Samsung also showcased the Galaxy S25 series, 2nd Gen Smart Ring, and the ultra-thin Galaxy S25 Edge at MWC 2025.

Samsung has some serious plans to take on Apple’s Vision Pro in the Mixed Reality headset space. It’s answer? Project Moohan — a XR headset that was first announced in December last year and showcased at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 in January in San Jose. However, very few details about the device were shared at the time.

Now, Samsung has once again unveiled the Android XR headset at the ongoing Mobile World Congress or MWC 2025. The company describes this device as a cutting-edge innovation that blends multimodal AI with extended reality (XR), paving the way for more immersive and intelligent experiences tailored to everyday use.

Project Moohan, which translates to “infinity” in Korean, was first introduced to developers in mid-December through a dedicated kit. At the time it was set that the device will be available for consumers sometime in 2025. While the unveiling at MWC is a step closer to that, the Korean company is ye to share any information about the device’s pricing or availability.

From the general information available, we know that the headset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset and features an external battery. Additionally, users have the option to connect larger battery packs via USB-C. Prior to the public announcement, select partners were given early access to the device to begin developing applications, with more developers receiving units later in December.

Apart from this, Samsung’s Galaxy AI booth at the MWC showcased the recently launched Galaxy S25 series and the 2nd Generation Smart Ring from the company alomg with the much-anticipated upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. Again, showcased at the Unpacked event earlier this year, the S25 Edge is Samsung’s take on a thin and light smartphone.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to compete directly with Apple’s recently launched iPhone 16E. Samsung had multiple units of the phone on showcase at the MWC but hasn’t shared any details about its pricing or availability either.
