The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the latest device to join the Samsung rumour mill, an 8-inch tablet with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

If information circulating the Internet is to be believed, then Samsung is preparing to add another device to its Note tablet portfolio, the Samsung GT-N5100. Commonly, the tablet is expected will be called the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The device will be available in two versions – GT-N5100 3G / Wi-Fi version and the GT-N5110 Wi-Fi only version.

As the name suggests, the Galaxy Note 8 will have an 8-inch Super Clear LCD display with a resolution of 1280×800. That’s the same resolution that we have on the 7-inch Google Nexus 7 and the iberry Auxus CoreX2 3G tablets. The Note 8 will also have a 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front facing camera for video calls. It will come with 2GB of RAM. In terms of storage, it will have 16/32GB built in with microSD card support for expansion. A 4600mAh battery will power it.

The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to feature a variety of connectivity options such as Bluetooth version 4.0, USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and A-GPS. The dimensions of the tablet are supposedly quite svelte, at 211.3×136.3×7.95mm, and it weighs 330 grams. The Note 8 will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean straight out-of-the-box.

Currently, in the Indian market Samsung has the Galaxy Tab 2, which is one of the best 7-inch tablets available in its price range. It has a 7-inch display with 1024×600 resolution, 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, 3G capability with standard SIM card, 3.15MP rear camera & VGA video call camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Android 4.0.3 upgradable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Samsung seems to be going all out with smartphone, phablets and tablets this year. The rumour mills are churning out quite a bit of information as to what we should expect from Samsung at MWC 2013.

We have the next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S IV that not only boasts of a full HD 4.99-inch display, but is also expected to support Samsung’s S-Pen which is currently only found on their Note series of devices. Next, we have the Samsung Galaxy Note III. To start with an octa-core processor, the same processor that was unveiled by Samsung during CES 2013, may power the device. Other rumours suggest that the device will have a 6.3-inch display.

Currently, Samsung has the Galaxy S III, the Galaxy Note II, and the Galaxy Note 800 available in the Indian market.
