Samsung’s mid-year Galaxy Unpacked is almost here. The Korean electronics maker is hosting the event in Paris, France in July and is expected to launch as many as seven devices, including the next-generation foldable phones, Galaxy watches, and earbuds. For the last few years, the Galaxy Unpacked is led by Samsung’s innovation in the foldable phone space but that’s not the case this year. While both the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will draw enough attention, the spotlight will be on the Galaxy Ring and Galaxy AI.
Samsung had announced the Galaxy Ring earlier this year and I even got a chance to see it at this year’s Mobile World Congress or MWC. However, the ring was still inside a glass box at the time and we were not allowed to touch it. The Galaxy Unpacked should change that.
Samsung should officially launch the Galaxy Ring at the Unpacked 2024. It will be interesting to see if the device is positioned as a smartwatch replacement or as an accessory that goes along with other Samsung devices. What we know is that the Ring will be equipped with a bunch of sensors to monitor heart rate, sleep cycle, workout sessions, and more. It should also get a bunch of AI features and capabilities. We will also have to see if Samsung brings the Ring to India immediately after the launch or not.

Galaxy AI
You will hear a lot about the Galaxy AI at the Samsung event. There is no doubt about that. Introduced only in Feb, Galaxy AI has already made it to the older Samsung devices and it will continue to play an important role in the upcoming Samsung devices as well. Things like on-device, in-call audio and text translations, Google’s Circle to Search feature, and more should come on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. Additionally, Samsung may announce some new AI features specifically for foldable phones as well.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6
Almost everything about the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 has already leaked. The Z Fold is expected to get a better chipset, better battery life, and slight improvements in the design as well. However, these upgrades might only be incremental. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 series may stick to last year’s design but might come with new ways to interact and engage with the cover screen. Both these phones should get enough new AI features. Apart from this, Samsung may also announce better software support for foldable phones, just like the Galaxy S series.
Galaxy Watch and Buds
Samsung may also use the stage to announce its new watches and earbuds. It is most likely to launch the Galaxy Watch 7 but, we may also get a new Watch Ultra as a rival to Apple’s Watch Ultra. This will obviously be a bigger, thicker, and feature-loaded smartwatch for fitness enthusiasts.
Lastly, we may get redesigned Galaxy Buds from Samsung. The leaks suggest that they will come with angular stems and some AI features.
