Samsung has launched its new 4G-enabled tablet, the Galaxy Tab A priced at Rs 17,990. The tablet sports an 8-inch 1,280 x 800 WXGA TFT display and runs on Samsung’s own UI atop Android Nougat. It is powered by a 1.4Ghz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 platform coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It is expandable upto 256GB via a microSD card.

Coming to the camera, the Galaxy Tab A sports an 8MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture lens and an LED flash. It comes with a 5MP front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. The device is backed by a 5,000mAH battery and will be available in Black and Gold colour variants.

The device claims 480 nits of screen brightness and comes with extra features such as Blue Light Filter, Smart View and Samsung Flow. Smart View lets users cast their tablet’s screen onto supported televisions and the Samsung Flow feature allows for automatic tethering with other Galaxy devices.

Samsung is also offering 180GB 4G data for users who buy the tablet with a Reliance Jio connection. Samsung’s Never Mind offer of one time screen replacement is also applicable on the device, if it’s bought between October 10 and November 9.

In terms of connectivity, the tablet features Wi-Fi direct, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, USB Type-C port, A-GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also comes with an accelerometer and magnetometer. The device comes in Gold and Black colours and is available via both online and offline retailers.
