Remember the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4? Now remember the Barnes & Nobles Nook tablet? Consider an amalgamation of the two. Well almost. After absorbing the bookseller’s business, Samsung and Barnes & Noble yesterday launched a Galaxy Tab 4 Nook tablet, which is slightly more Galaxy Tab than it is Nook.
As you would have probably guessed already, this is the first full featured Android tablet from Barnes & Noble. The device has been optimised for reading, of course, much like Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablets. It is also the first Nook tablet to boast a front-facing camera. The device is priced at $179 (Rs. 10,900 approx.), after a $20 (Rs. 1,200 approx.) discount.
The new Tab 4 Nook will also be loaded with $200 (Rs. 12,200 approx.) worth of content. It will have free access to WiFi in Barnes & Noble stores and will allow users to read books for free when they’re in the stores. Barnes & Noble also said that they would provide free in-store customer service for the Nook set-up and support.
The device is available currently in Barnes & Noble stores and on the Internet.
