Samsung has announced its new Galaxy Tab A range. This new tablet range will feature thin, lightweight tablets with metal construction. The company announced two new tablets under this range; one is an 8-inch model and the other is a 9.7-inch model.

As mentioned earlier, both tablets offer metal construction which is a noteworthy shift from Samsung’s earlier plastic builds. One other change from previous tablet displays is the 4:3 aspect ratio instead of the generally used 16:9 or 16:10. Samsung has priced the 8-inch tablet at $229 (Rs. 14,420 approx) and the 8.9-inch model at $299 (Rs. 18,827 approx). There is a third bundle version as well in which Samsung includes its S-pen with the 9.7-inch model, this costs $349 (Rs. 22,000 approx).
Currently, both tablets have been introduced in the US and will start shipping from May 1. Global availability and pricing is still under wraps but is expected to be revealed soon.
