Reliance Jio is offering a 50 percent discount on JioFi, its 4G wireless hub as part of the company's festive celebration offer. The JioFi will be available for Rs 999 between September 20 and September 30. The JioFi portable 4G router is generally priced at Rs 1,999 and the company is offering a discount of Rs 1,000.
Reliance Jio notes on its website that JioFi will only be available to Prime subscribers at Rs 999. The festive offer cannot be clubbed with any other offer. The JioFi allows 2G or 3G smartphone users to experience Jio's 4G LTE network and make VoLTE calls. The device can connect with a maximum of 32 devices over Wi-Fi.
In terms of features, the JioFi supports peak download speed of 150Mbps and upload speed up to 50Mbps. The portable device packs a 2300mah battery which the company claims can last up to six hours when fully charged. The discount on the price of JioFi comes amidst festive sale offers from Flipkart and Amazon India.
A recent study by CyberMedia Research (CMR) for the second quarter of 2017 said that 9 out of 10 MiFi devices sold in India are JioFi. Jio has managed to beat Huawei and ZTE in the wireless dongle segment and with new discounts, the company can attract more consumers. Reliance Jio currently has managed to add 130 million subscribers within a year of its commercial launch.
