According to the article, the ProSafe Wireless VPN Firewall product family, which combines an 802.11g wireless access point, IPsec VPN firewall and Fast Ethernet switch into one package, was one of the highest rated solutions identified by a group of more than 1,600 information security executives and managers. “Readers gave the series high marks, lauding its attacker detection, access control and wired security management system integration features.”
“This award is particularly gratifying and exciting for NETGEAR given the fact that the award winners were selected by the information security professionals that use the products day in and day out,” stated Jason Leung, Senior Product Line Manager of SMB Security. “Our wired and wireless VPN firewall products are enjoying strong popularity among small and medium businesses that employ them as standalone all-in-one network security solutions in smaller offices, and by larger companies that utilize our VPN firewalls to provide secure and reliable access to network resources by remote offices and telecommuters. The robust security functionality and comprehensive feature set that the receipt of this award was based upon has established our ProSafe Wireless VPN Firewalls among the top network security solutions in the SMB market.”
Atul Jain, Country Manger, India & SAARC, Netgear, says, “The awards justify our commitment to developing technology from grounds up. We do not cut frills of the bigger products and give it to the SMB customers rather we create SMB specific products keeping their growth trajectory in mind, which not only gives enterprise-class performance but ample opportunity to scale up along with the growth of the SMBs. The biggest advantage of Netgear products is that one need not to have to tweak here and there, rather just plug it into the network and it is ready for performance.”
