The update brings boosts for DirectStylus pen technology for left-handed users as well as improvements to the camera experience with always on HDR and video stabilization.

Nvidia has announced rolling out a software update (OTA) to its new Tegra Note 7 tablet (launched in India as the Xolo Play Tegra Note). The update brings Android 4.3 OS, range of new and improved features along with security and bug fixes.

According to Nvidia, the update brings an improved Tegra NOTE stylus experience, which now supports left-handed users, and has improved response. Nvidia has included a DirectStylus help option under the device setting’s menu, a stylus removal and insert notification on the notification bar. Nvidia has also added the feature to capture the notification bar with full-screen capture.

Most importantly, Nvidia has added an always-on high-dynamic range (AOHDR) capability in the Tegra Note 7’s camera. “AOHDR utilizes Tegra 4’s processing power and Chimera computational photography architecture. We’ve also added video stabilization for shake-free video, in addition to tuning and optimizations to improve camera performance under certain lighting conditions,” says the company in a blog post.

Moreover, the update brings the ability to transfer app and data files from internal memory to an external microSD card.

Nvidia and Xolo launched the Play Tegra Note in India earlier this month. The tablet runs on an Nvidia Tegra 4 chip that includes a GeForce ULP GPU, 1GB RAM and a quad-core processor clocked at 1.8Ghz. It has a 7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels.

The Tegra Note has 16GB internal storage and supports microSD cards up to 32GB. Imaging is taken care of by a 5MP rear camera and a VGA front camera. To know more about the tablet, check out our XOLO Play Tegra Note Tab Review
