A woman from Patna recently fell victim to cyber fraud while trying to get help for a delayed delivery and lost Rs 52,000. Malti Sinha, a resident of Yarapur in Patna, ordered a mixer machine online on February 6. The product was supposed to be delivered by February 12, but when it didn’t arrive, she decided to contact the company. She then searched for the company’s contact number on a popular search engine.

The person on the other end of the call told her that her address was not updated on their site and asked her to update it, reports TOI. After this, the scammer withdrew Rs 52,000 from her bank account.
