OxygenOS 4.1 update brings with it the March security update and other miscellaneous improvements, bug fixes.

OnePlus has started pushing Android 7.1.1 Nougat based Oxygen OS 4.1 for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users. The new update brings with it the March security update and other miscellaneous improvements and bug fixes.

The biggest change here is the new Android 7.1.1 Nougat update, which brings incremental changes to 7.0 Nougat. The new version is available only on Google's Pixel/Pixel XL and Nexus devices. The OxygenOS 4.1 ROM based on 7.1.1 Nougat brings support for gender diverse emoji and expanded screenshots. Other fixes include reduced motion blur while shooting moving objects, improved video stabilisation, WiFi and bluetooth connectivity.

OnePlus was among the first OEMs to offer Android 7.0 Nougat update and with 7.1.1 update, the Chinese startup has trumped others in the Android update cycle. Android 7.0 Nougat is currently running on only 2.8 percent of active Android devices. The recent update to Android Dashboard revealed the growing problem with Android fragmentation and how Marshmallow and Lollipop continue to be the most popular versions.

The new Nougat update is being rolled out in a staged manner and should be available for everyone over time. The update is being pushed in the form of an over-the-air update but OnePlus users can alternately also check for the update by heading to Settings >> About Phone >> System Updates.
