Finnish mobile manufacturer Nokia is reportedly all geared up to host an event in New York in September.
WP Central, a website that solely focuses on Windows Phone, reports that the handset giant may host an event on September 26-27. However, details regarding the event are still uncertain, whether it’s a public press event or an internal meet. The site has also revealed a screenshot which appears to be a registration screen for the event.
It is also rumoured that Nokia could reveal a Windows-powered tablet it has been working on. The rumoured tablet is expected to feature an 11-inch display.
On Wednesday, Nokia’s rumoured Windows tablet was seen in benchmark results. A device named RX-114 popped up on a graphics processor benchmarking website GFXBench.
The results reveal that the alleged tablet would be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 graphics processor. The device would presumably run on the Windows RT.
However, not much has been disclosed in terms of other hardware specifications including RAM, internal storage, camera and battery. It could sport a display screen with a resolution of 1371 x 771 pixels, which possible translates to 1920×1080, just like the Surface Pro.
Earlier this month, there were reports about a Nokia Windows RT tablet, which were apparently shrugged off. To everyone’s surprise, pictures of the alleged tablet also appeared on the internet.
A leaked picture of what allegedly appeared to be a 10-inch tablet running on Windows RT was also revealed.
