You can now change your profile picture on Netflix to your favourite Netflix Original character or one of the cool new avatars
People take profiles on Netflix for granted today but back in August 2013 it was quite an innovative feature added to the steaming service. No longer would you need to see rom-coms or sci-fi movies or action movies if that wasn’t your thing. With the introduction of profiles, you could see the kind of content you liked to watch under your profile. Even if you don’t share an account with a family member and are a single user, a profile is a nice way to keep track of the different genres of content you like to consume and get personalised recommendations.
To celebrate the anniversary of profiles, Netflix has added a bunch of new profiles customisations for you to enjoy. Not only will you get a host of new avatars, but the existing avatars are also getting a makeover to keep things fresh.
In its press release, Netflix said, “Today we are announcing an evolution of profiles. The profile icons you’ve used for the last five years are getting a fun makeover. We’re also introducing a bunch of new icons — including some of the most beloved characters from Netflix shows and movies. Get excited, things are about to get a lot more personal”. The new profiles will include popular characters from Netflix Originals like Stranger Things, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Orange is the New Black and many more.
You can enjoy the new profiles on the Netflix website and apps on mobile, and TV devices. If you can’t see the new profile images worry not, they will make their way onto your device over the next few weeks.
