NCS sets up managed security center
SINGAPORE–IT services provider NCS has set up a center to provide managed security services to customers that lack the resources and expertise to implement round-the-clock surveillance.
Chong Yoke Sin, CEO of NCS, told ZDNet Asia in an e-mail that the Managed Security Operations Center (MSOC) was developed at an initial investment of S$1 million (US$652,000) and is located in Singapore.
Currently staffed with 10 employees, the new facility targets organizations that are looking to outsource their security operations.
Chong said: “With organizations facing difficulties in managing their de-centralized security operations, the hassle of managing millions of security reports generated from disparate systems, applications, platforms and appliances can prove to be a tremendous information overload.
“The high cost, limited resources and expertise needed to set up and operate an in-house 24×7 operations center forces all but the largest organizations, to consider outsourcing this non-core competency to a reliable business partner,” she added.
With the new facility, NCS customers can have real-time, centralized integration and management capabilities “at a fraction of the normal setup cost, leaving them more time to focus on what is important–growing their business”, Chong said.
A wholly-owned subsidiary of the SingTel Group, NCS has about 4,000 staff located in 10 countries across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions.
