Must-read Marvel graphic novels

Marvel Comics have just about taken over the world. With the Marvel Cinematic Universe breaking box office records and the Avengers becoming household names, the company is sitting pretty at the top, right now. But, there are more exciting and thrilling books in the vast catalogue of Marvel comics. So, today we’ll take a look at some of the best Marvel graphic novels that you should check out.

Daredevil- Born Again

Written by famed comic book scribe Frank Miller and illustrated by David Mazzucchelli, Daredevil-Born Again was one of the most important books in the character’s history. Daredevil has always been a lesser-known hero in the Marvel staple but Miller came along and revitalized the Devil and in turn, delivered one of the most memorable stories in comic book history.

World War Hulk – Omnibus

The Hulk has always been a fan-favourite and in World War Hulk, he is front and centre of one of the biggest titles in Marvel’s history. After having returned from a journey through space, the Hulk is looking to destroy the Avengers. Written by Greg Pak and illustrated by John Romita Jr., World War Hulk is a tale of revenge,  redemption and forgiveness. A must-read if you’re a fan of the Green Giant.

Moon Knight: Volume 1

Another character that isn’t very well-known, Moon Knight, saw a resurrection in this graphic novel written by Warren Ellis. Illustrated by various artists, the book revolves around Marc Spectre, a man with a haunted past who dresses in white and fights crime. The story is a deep look at a broken mind and what it does to cope with that fact. Fun, gritty and thrilling, Moon Knight: Volume 1 should not be missed.

The Ultimates Ultimate collection

This was the book that started the entire MCU. The Ultimates introduced the world to a modern version of the Avengers. No longer were these heroes the shining example of honor but more human and broken as well. This was also the book that saw the likeness of Samuel L. Jackson used as Nick Fury. Check it out if you want to experience the beginnings of the MCU.
