MS Office 13 will have deeper LinkedIn integration
LinkedIn has announced that Microsoft will support deeper integration with the social network in the forthcoming version of Office, known as Office 13.
LinkedIn says that Outlook Social Connect for the next release of Office will not require an additional download to sync with the professional networking website. This means users just need to sign in once with LinkedIn in Outlook and they will immediately start seeing rich profile information such as photos and network activities. LinkedIn data will also be added to contact cards in Outlook.
“With the new Outlook social connect not only will you be able to keep track of what your LinkedIn connections are discussing and sharing, you’ll have easy access to photos, contact information and LinkedIn profile details right at your fingertips – without ever leaving Office, “ says Linked in a blog post.
LinkedIn reveals it is currently working with Microsoft on a new app of the social network for Outlook in the new Office app store. The app is likely to feature new functionality and features for professionals. More details on this will be released in the coming weeks.
Microsoft recently announced MS Office 13 and is expected to launch the full version early next year. Read more about Microsoft’s connected social experiences here.
