The Mozilla India Community is holding a Launch Party this Saturday (April 16th) at Rain Club, Shangrila Plaza, Road.no. 2, Banjara Hills to celebrate the release of Firefox 4. It has been merely 3 weeks since launch of Firefox 4 and the browser has already managed over 80 million downloads, and gained a 7% market share (more than that of Firefox 3.0 and Firefox 3.5 combined at this point), and leads Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.0 as well. Even today Firefox 4 download continue to chug away at an impressive rate of over 2000 downloads a minute.

Since then Mozilla has unveiled their plans for a future faster release cycle, and as of today you can even download preliminary builds of what will eventually become Firefox 5 and 6.

Also to be introduced at this event is the new website of the Mozilla India Community: MozillaIndia.org. The website is a “community driven initiative to work together on a well defined goals with a purpose to improve and grow.”
