Moto Z getting Android 7.0 Nougat update in India
Moto Z Nougat update brings support for split-screen multitasking and Google Daydream VR platform
Motorola has started pushing the Android 7.0 Nougat update for Moto Z users in India. The company had promised to roll out latest version of Android update to Moto Z users before the end of the year and it is finally living up that promise. Moto Z and Moto Z Force started getting Android Nougat update globally last month.
With Nougat update, Moto Z becomes the first non-Pixel smartphone to support Google's Daydream platform. With Daydream support, Moto Z users can simply plug and play VR content by purchasing Google's $79 Daydream VR headset. The update seems to be available only for Moto Z and not Moto Z Play in India.
Moto Z's Android Nougat update brings support for split-screen multitasking, quick switching between apps and support for work mode. The latest flavour of Android also performance improvements in the form of doze on the go, which lowers power usage when the screen is off and the user is on the move.
The most useful new feature is the ability to quickly reply to notifications directly and ability to glance at more information with bundled notifications. Google has also added support for more notification controls by tapping and switching toggles directly from the notification.
The Nougat update released for Moto Z is near stock version but it does come with Moto experiences like Moto Display landscape mode and also one of the best implementation in terms of a modular smartphone.
