The Mini JCW Pro Edition combines the standard 3-door Mini Cooper S 3-door hatch with John Cooper Works tuning kit and accessories.
Mini has introduced the JCW Pro Edition hot hatch in India. The performance-focused hatchback brings the standard 3-door Mini Cooper S along with the John Cooper Works tuning package, styling and accessories to present a more powerful and premium overall package, over the standard 3-door that was already on sale in India. Interestingly, the car has been introduced over Amazon India, and only 20 units have been put up for pre-booking.
Technology
The Mini JCW Pro Edition includes a special John Cooper Works aerodynamic package to aid performance. The technology inside include a high resolution Head-Up display, an eight-channel, 12-speaker, 360W Harman Kardon audio system, and the Mini ConnectedDrive infotainment system along with the beautiful LED lighting that we previously saw in the Mini Cooper D 5-door hatchback. Other elements include a special edition Glowing Red trim on the JCW gear selector, Launch Control, multiple driving modes, brake assist, dynamic stability control, crash sensor, cornering brake control and more. It also gets the 'Minimalism' driving technology package, with features such as brake energy regeneration. The JCW tuning kit includes elements such as electronic damper control, auto-adjusting steering sensitivity and controllable exhaust valve system, among others.
Powertrain
The Mini JCW Pro Edition is powered by a 2-litre, 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol engine that produces 210bhp and 300Nm of torque, reaching 100kph in 6.5 seconds. It is paired with a 6-speed Steptronic transmission, along with paddle shifters for manual transmission control. It gets Sport, MID and Green driving modes, and plies on 205-section, 17-inch run-flat tyres with carbon fibre dual pipe exhausts.
Styling
The custom styling package on the Mini JCW Pro Edition gets a red roof and ORVM caps, and a matte black bonnet with rear racing stripes further accentuated with a red pinstripe to highlight its performance-oriented statistics. The LED headlamps are surrounded by black rings, and the rear also gets a John Cooper Works emblem to differentiate it from the standard 3-door Mini Cooper S. Inside, the car gets Alcantara leather JCW Sport seats with integrated headrests, a JCW steering wheel with perforated leather and red stitching, special edition door sills, gear selector and an anthracite roof liner.
The Mini JCW Pro Edition has been premiered on Amazon India, and only 20 units have been put up for pre-orders. The hot hatch is now up for sale in India at Rs. 43,90,000 (ex-showroom, pan-India).
