The Surface Pro 4 is officially available in India. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced, earlier this year, that the company will be bringing the device to India. The tablet is powered by Windows 10 Pro and will be getting competition from the recently launched Apple iPad Pro. The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is available in 4 different variants, with prices starting from Rs. 89,990. HCL will be the authorised device distributor in India and the tablet will be an Amazon exclusive for the first six months. Microsoft has also partnered with Orient, Frontier and Team, which will be the authorised device resellers. The Typecover keyboard will be available Rs. 12,490 and the Surface Pen will sell in India for Rs. 5,990. Also, the power supply unit for the Surface Pro will be available for Rs. 8,490.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 was announced earlier announced, at the October 6th Microsoft event, where the company announced two new Lumia phones (Lumia 950 and 950XL) and the Surface book. Microsoft has already launched the two new Windows 10-powered phones in India and now it is launching the Surface Pro 4. The latest tablet from Microsoft tries to bring the best of both worlds, endeavouring to be a tablet and laptop at the same time. The Surface Pro 4 has a 12.3-inch display, which boasts a a 2736 x 1824p resolution. The display has a 3:2 aspect ratio and supports upto 10 point multi-touch. Microsoft will be selling different configurations of the Surface Pro 4, with three processor options from Intel’s Core 6th gen i5 or i7 processors. The Intel i5 powered variant will feature Intel HD graphics 520 and the Intel i7 powered variant will feature Intel Iris graphics. The tablet will be available with 4GB, 8GB or 16GB RAM in combination with SSD storage options of 128GB and 256GB options for commercial users.
The 512GB or 1TB storage and the Intel Core m3 chip variants of the Surface Pro 4 will be available for enterprise users. Microsoft claims that the Surface Pro 4 is 50% faster than a Apple Macbook and 30% faster than the Surface Pro 3.
The Microsoft Surface Pro has an all magnesium casing and comes only in the silver colour. The Intel Core i5 and i7 variant weighs 786 grams and are 8.4mm thick. While Microsoft hasn’t revealed the battery size of the tablet, it does say that the tablet can offer 9 hours of video playback. The tablet comes with full-size USB 3.0 port, a microSD Card reader, a Headset jack and a Mini DisplayPort. Along with the other accessories which are compatible with this device such as the Surface Pen, and the detachable keyboard make it quite productive. At the rear, the Surface pro 4 carries an 8MP camera which can do 1080p video recording. It has a 5MP front-facing camera. Microsoft has also included TPM chip to the Surface Pro 4 to give it enterprise level security. Here is a look at the three models which will be sold to consumers

Further, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has also been launched in India. The Core i3 powered version with 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD, will sell for Rs. 73,990 in the country.
