Mercedes-Benz launches AMG CLA 45, GLA 45 performance cars in India

This is the 6th and 7th AMG cars launched in 2017 alone, and offers more options in the premium segment of cars for Mercedes-Benz India.

Mercedes-Benz India has launched two more AMG cars in India. The two new performance cars from Mercedes' portfolio include the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 sedan and the AMG GLA 45 SUV, and are the 6th and 7th AMG cars to have been introduced in India this year. Both the AMG CLA 45 and GLA 45 are also being offered in an 'aero edition', which presents a different cosmetic package in comparison to the standard ones. The Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 is priced onward of Rs. 75.2 lac, while the AMG GLA 45 is priced Rs. 77.85 lac onward.

The Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC sedan gets a redesigned A-wing, a new spoiler lip and an all-new interior package wrapped in 'Artico man-made leather'. The overall effect is very similar to Alcantara. It gets the same, smaller COMAND infotainment system that was present in the new GLA SUV lineup, which gets a circular controller along with two buttons for operation. The AMG CLA 45 is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 376 brake horsepower and 475Nm of torque, making it the most powerful series production engine in the auto market right now.

The AMG GLA 45 4MATIC SUV is also powered by the same engine, has the same infotainment, audio and seat systems, and is essentially an identical twin of the CLA 45 sedan, only in the SUV avatar. Both these cars also include an 'aero edition', which come in an exclusive gloss black shade with yellow highlights to add a more racy character to these cars. Both the new AMG cars are electronically limited to peak speed of 250kph, and is almost similar in terms of reaching 100kph from standstill. While the CLA 45 reaches 100kph in 4.2s, the GLA 45 reaches 100kph in 4.4s.

The Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 is priced at Rs. 75.2 lac and the CLA 45 aero edition is priced at Rs. 77.69 lac. The AMG GLA 45 is priced at Rs. 77.85 lac, and the GLA 45 aero edition is priced at Rs. 80.67 lac. All prices are ex-showroom, pan-India.
