GPS navigation services provider MapmyIndia has updated the in-car GPS device offering with the latest offering – the Lx340 navigator. The device has been priced at Rs. 8,990. This device brings 3D Maps to the affordable navigator segment. Incidentally, 3D Maps is something seen in the more expensive devices till now.

The Lx340 has a 4.3-inch display with a 480×272 pixel resolution. The device comes with 2GB built-in storage, and a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 8GB. The device runs on Windows CE 6.0 operating system, which is pretty much standard across most devices that we have tested.
The maps installed on the device include door-to-door navigation to house addresses in 39 cities, 7.08 million points-of-interest across various categories covering 4,551 cities at street level with localities, streets, landmarks and 5,79,000 towns and villages connected by complete highway network across India. Additionally, 3D landmarks across various Indian cities and 2D building footprints across 36 cities.
The Lx340 navigator brings in the new ‘Don’t Panic!’ GPS navigation software interface for instant route calculation and re-routing feature to keep user on track all the time with powerful, easy to use single-line search to find any place easily. There will be visual & audible alerts for lane guidance, over-speeding & road signs.
