Kaspersky Lab along with DSCI launches Internet Safety Campaign in India

Kaspersky Lab along with the DSCI has launched an initiative for increasing awareness about Internet Safety among the youth.

After the successful completion of their Internet Safety Campaign at Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata; Kaspersky Lab along with Data Security Council of India (DSCI) and also in cooperation with Facebook, Microsoft and Google launched Internet Safety Campaign – Stop. Think. Connect in Mumbai.

Internet Safety Campaign – Stop. Think. Connect is one of a kind initiative in the form of a Street Play competition aimed at increasing the level of awareness on Internet Security among the young users.

The campaign involved a college outreach programme in the top Indian metros – Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata. The participating teams in each city had to ideate and present a creative theatrical interpretation of key themes around Internet Safety. The Bangalore event had participants from colleges like St. Joseph’s College, Christ College and it was judged by Dr. Nagarathna from NLSIU (National Law School of India University) and also by RJ Darius Sunawala. Whereas the Mumbai event was held at Atharva College of Engineering and the chief guests invited were Sunil R.Paraskar Additional CP (North Region), RJ Sidhu of Fever 104 fame and Mr. Lokesh Rai from Rangbaaz Theatre Group. The Mumbai event saw participation from colleges like LS Raheja, Kelkar, Xavier’s, TSEC, Rizvi, Atharva and Oriental. But Kelkar college took the grand prize of Rs.50,000 in the competition at the end.

The prize for the best performing team was Rs. 50,000. More photographs about the events held at Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata can be found here. This campaign points out that we do require such awareness initiatives in the country on account of increasing number of Internet safety threats faced by the youths online these days.
