Power Dancing
Imagine this—You are in the middle of a very important call, and your mobile battery is about to run out juice. Worse still, there is no charging socket around. Well, no need to pull your hair out anymore, just tap your toes and talk through. Thanks to a new gizmo, you now just need to face the music and dance. Quite a perfect way to charge up your device.
Mobile phone operator Orange said on Tuesday it had teamed up with GotWind, a firm specialising in renewable energy, to produce a recharger powered by movements alone. This is a good excuse for toe-tappers to dance their way through the streets to build up juice for their cellphones.
The device is very portable and can be just worn like an armband. It employs a weight and magnet to harness kinetic energy and covert it into an electric current to top up charge in a storage battery.
The product is fun, engaging and interactive that would encourage users to have a laugh while charging their mobile phone and at the same time test out a new energy-efficient prototype in these ecologically conscious times believes Hattie Magee, Head of Partnerships at Orange UK.
Now don’t be surprised to have free dance shows on our streets, restaurants and almost anywhere!
In the meantime, researchers have now focussed their attention on the female breast motion. When a woman jogs, the three dimensional movement of her “assets” is thought to generate sufficient energy to power an iPod or a mobile phone. Though there are some issues like size and the quality of fabric covering the chest, the intrepid scientists believe that a solution will soon be available. We wait, with bated breath for this innovation that will lead the world nearer to eco friendliness.
