Jio effect: Airtel broadband users can now get up to 1TB additional data for 6 months
Airtel is now offering up to 1000GB data with its broadband plans.
There is no offer on the Airtel VIP plan because it does not come with any monthly FUP limit.
Everyone saw this coming. Since Reliance Jio announced the JioFiber commercial rollout, its competitors, like Bharti Airtel, have been preparing to extend data-laden offers to their customers. In a bid to retain its customers, Airtel is now offering additional data to its broadband users on select plans. Customers can now get up to 1000GB (approx 1TB data) on their current internet plans. Airtel is currently offering a total of four broadband plans: Airtel Basic priced at Rs 799, Airtel Entertainment priced at Rs 1,099, Airtel Premium that costs Rs 1,599 and Airtel VIP plan priced at Rs 1,999 for every month. Except the Airtel VIP plan, all other plans come with a monthly FUP limit. Since, the Rs 1,999 VIP plan provides unlimited data to the subscribers, so there won’t be any additional data offer.
Users who have subscribed to the Airtel Basic or the Rs 799 plan, will now get an additional 200GB data to the 100GB data it ships with. The Airtel Entertainment or Rs 1,099 broadband plan offers a total of 500GB additional data, and the Rs 1,599 Airtel Premium plan subscribers will get an additional 1000GB data. As mentioned, the extra data will be valid for six months from the month of credit, Telecom Talk reported.
In June, Airtel announced that it has extended the AirtelThanks rewards programme to its ‘V-Fiber’ home broadband customers. As a part of the refreshed AirtelThanks programme, all customers on Airtel ‘V-Fiber’ home broadband plans of Rs 1,099 and above will now get benefits, which include three months subscription gift for Netflix, One year Amazon Prime membership with online shopping benefits and access to premium content from ZEE5 and Airtel TV. The benefits will be available depending upon the plans that the customers have subscribed to.
