Jio finally launched its AirFiber today on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. It is simply called the Jio AirFiber. Competitor Airtel, on the other hand, also has its own Airtel Xstream AirFiber. AirFiber is a simple device which you can plug in for internet access. We are going to compare the newly launched Jio AirFiber with Airtel AirFiber to see which one best suits your interests. The AirFiber tech is made for both home and office usage and helps you minimise the usage of annoying wires. Read along as we compare the services offered by the two biggest telecom companies in the country.
Firstly, let’s talk about availability. As of now, Airtel’s Xstream AirFiber is only available in Delhi and Mumbai. Jio’s AirFiber which was launched today, is available in eight cities, namely, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Pune. Clearly, Airtel is not an option if you’re living outside Delhi and Mumbai.

Let’s take a look at the price point now. While the Jio AirFiber prices start at ₹599, meanwhile the Airtel Xstream AirFiber has only one offer.
Jio offers two plans- one for six months and one for 12 months and you can choose between the two. If you go for the six-month plan then you will have to pay an additional ₹1,000 as installation charges which you don’t have to pay for the 12-month pack. In addition to this, there are two other plans that you can choose from AirFiber and AirFiber Max.
The Jio AirFiber plan has three options- ₹599, ₹899, and ₹1199. You get up to 100mbps high-speed data with this and other benefits like access to over 550 digital channels and 14 OTT apps, including Netflix, Amazon Prime, and JioCinema Premium.
The Jio AirFiber Max also has three options- ₹1499, ₹2499, and ₹3999. This is better suited for those with bigger internet needs as this offers up to 1Gbps highspeed data. In addition to this you also get access to over 550 digital channels and 14 OTT apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and JioCinema Premium. But the catch here is that Jio AirFiber Max will not be available in all areas.

Airtel Xstream Fiber, on the other hand, only offers a singular plan. It offers a six-month plan that is for ₹4,794 i.e. ₹799 per month and the cost will come down to ₹4,435 after the discount. In addition to this, you will also have to pay an additional security deposit of ₹2,500. So, the total cost will be ₹7,733.
