IRCTC Down: The Indian Railways online ticket booking platform is experiencing a major outage. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has acknowledged the outage, and an official response is awaited. According to the reports, both the application and the website are down. All users attempting to access the platform receive the ‘unable to perform action due to maintenance activity’ error.

According to Downdetector, over 2,500 users have reported the issue, with the majority complaining about the website and 28% about the application. This isn’t the first time IRCTC has experienced an outage. Last week, it experienced a similar outage, causing thousands of people to have trouble booking train tickets.

The outage monitoring website suggests that the IRCTC outage started at around 10AM. The users are still unable to access the platform. The IRCTC website mentions, “Due to maintenance activity, e-ticketing service will not be available. please try later. for cancellation/file TDR, please call at customer care no. 14646,08044647999 & 08035734999 or mail at etickets@irctc.co.in.”

On the other hand, social media platforms are witnessing yet another meme fest, with users trolling Indian railways with memes, opinions, and funny videos. On X, IRCTC is also downtrending.

However, there has been no official confirmation as to when the IRCTC website will be operational again, allowing users to continue their railway booking process. Until then, users can book their train tickets through other platforms such as Yatra, Goibibo, Paytm, MakeMyTrip, Trainman, and others.

Customers can also purchase tickets at Indian Railway counters in case of an emergency. We will notify you once the IRCTC website is fully functional again.
