Yet another iPad Mini information leak. This time, it is the German site MobileGeeks claiming to have access to a screenshot of the inventory system used by Apple for European and Asian markets. If this picture does prove to be genuine, the smaller iPad version could have a base price of € 249, and that translates to approximately Rs 17000 (at the exchange rate at the time of writing this – 1 euro = 68.3719 Indian rupees).
The screenshots suggest that the iPad Mini will be available in as many as 16 versions, but surely only specific versions will be launched in most markets.
The prices as listed on the rumored inventory system screenshot are:
€ 249: Apple iPad Mini (8GB) Wi-Fi
€ 349: Apple iPad Mini (8GB) Wi-Fi and UMTS
€ 349: Apple iPad Mini (16GB) Wi-Fi
€ 449: Apple iPad Mini (16GB) Wi-Fi Mini and UMTS
€ 449: Apple iPad Mini (32GB) Wi-Fi
€ 549: Apple iPad Mini (32GB) Wi-Fi and UMTS
€ 549: Apple iPad Mini (64GB) Wi-Fi
€ 649: Apple iPad Mini (64GB) Wi-Fi and UMTS
It is interesting to note that the smaller iPad will also be available in an 8GB version as well. This pricing, if true, clearly points to the fact that Apple is willing to take on the Google Nexus 7 and the Amazon Kindle Fire in time for the festive season shopping spree.
This leak now follows various rumors we have heard over the last few weeks, which suggested that the iPad Mini production has already started at various Foxconn facilities in Asia and South America.
