iOS 18.3 release date: Apple has officially released the iOS 18.3 beta 1 update to select beta testers, following the public release of the iOS 18.2 update. While iOS 18.2 brought some major updates, including new Apple Intelligence features, the iOS 18.3 update is expected to bring only a few changes.

For those who are unaware, the iOS 18.2 update introduced a slew of new Apple Intelligence features, including the Image Playground, Image Wand, Genmoji, Siri ChatGPT, Visual Intelligence, and changes to the Writing Tools. But if you have high expectations from iOS 18.3, here’s everything you should know.

iOS 18.3 release date

Apple officially rolled out the iOS 18.3 beta on December 16 and looking at the previous year’s timeline, we can expect that the iOS 18.3 will make its public appearance in the last week of January. However, the official release date is still unknown.

iOS 18.3 features (As per Beta 1 update)

According to 9To5Mac, Apple will include support for robot vacuums in the Home app, allowing users to connect their smart vacuums to HomeKit and control them using Siri. However, the exact details of the feature have yet to be revealed.

Furthermore, the iOS 18.3 update is expected to include bug fixes, such as a fix to Genmoji not generating correctly unless you first select a different person, and third-party apps that use the Writing Tools API may not function properly if the first responder is not a UIView, preventing full inline functionality.

Along with this, the Image Playground app will receive some minor updates, and the Camera Control menu on the Accessibility page will now support Dark mode.

However, since Apple has only released the first beta version, it is possible that more features will be added in subsequent beta updates, eventually making it to the iOS 18.3 public update.

Speaking of Apple Intelligence features, the report suggests that new AI features may not be released before the iOS 18.4 update. It remains to be seen whether the upcoming iOS 18.3 beta update will include a new AI feature or not.
