Intex launches i-Buddy Connect 3G tablet for Rs. 9,990

The Intex i-Buddy tablet runs on Android 4.0 ICS and boasts of dual-SIM capabilities.

Intex has launched a budget Android tablet in India. The device runs on Android 4.0 ICS in a day and age where Android 4.1 Jelly Bean has started making an appearance on budget devices. Called the Intex  i-Buddy Connect 3G, the tablet boasts of dual-SIM capabilities as well.

The tablet has a 7-inch display and boasts of 4GB built-in storage expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card slot. Under the hood, it has a 1GHz dual-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It houses a 3.2MP rear-facing camera and has a 1.3MP front facing camera. A 3500mAh battery powers the tablet which the company claims will last for 3 hours of video conferencing talk time and 300 hours of standby time. The tablet will come preloaded with a bunch of apps such as Nimbuzz, Skype and Facebook, Yahoo Messenger and GChat. The tablet also supports HDMI and Bluetooth. The Intex i-Buddy is available to users in two colours – black and brown.

Commenting on the launch; Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, General Manager- Mobile Business, Intex Technologies said, “Further to our promise of continually bringing innovation to our customers at an affordable price, this is our latest offering for the urban and semi-urban youth. Aesthetically designed, i-Buddy Connect 3G aims to provide entertainment and education to our customers, considering a huge portion of them are high users of internet. India’s booming digital economy is poised to reach 350-450 million by 2015-16 and we at Intex are encouraging the growth trend by creating such products that would empower the youth to have the latest technology a click away.”
