Intel has announced a small device that is slightly larger than a thumb-drive which has the capability to transform your display into a full fledged PC. The Compute Stick comes with a quad-core Intel Atom processor, an HDMI output for your display (monitor or TV), a USB port, and microSD card slot. You can get the device with Windows 8.1, 32GB of storage and 2GB RAM. There is also a Linux model which will come with lower memory and storage options.
The Compute Stick also comes with built-in Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0 and a miniUSB port to power the device. The device can run Windows apps and obviously you can connect a keyboard and mouse wirelessly or via the USB port.
The device is a great companion for people who want a simple and hassle free solution for their everyday computing needs or maybe for the ones who are always on the move.
The Compute Stick will cost $149 (Rs. 9,000) for the Windows version, and $89 (Rs. 5,000) for the Ubuntu model. According to Intel the device will be coming this year, so you can expect an announcement around March or April.
