The 9.7-inch IPS display of the iBall Slide Q9703 has a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, which is the same as the third and fourth gen iPad and the Zync Quad 9.7. Under the hood, the tablet has a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and the SGX544 MP2 GPU. It has 16GB built-in storage expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. It houses a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front facing camera. The tablet doesn’t have the ability to house a SIM card but you can use the Internet on the go via a 3G USB dongle. It also supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and an HDMI out. An 8000mAh battery powers the entire package.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Sandeep Parasrampuria, Director of iBall said, “It’s an era of larger screens and stunning displays. This tablet’s ultra high resolution and retina panel on quad-core processor and an octa-core GPU is going to provide terrific performance and a stunning viewing experience to their proud owners, I’m sure.”
If you are in the market to pick up a tablet around the Rs. 15K price point, you have quite a few options to choose from. If you need the tablet to house a SIM card and make calls, we suggest you take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P311 (Wi-Fi Only) and the Asus FonePad. If a SIM card isn’t a priority, you can take a look at the Nexus 7. Other options available to you include the Zync Quad 10.1, and the Zync Quad 8.0.
