The victim took immediate action by calling the cybercrime helpline number, 1930, to report the fraud. Police officer B. Sandeep, who was on night duty, responded quickly, reports The Hindu. He registered an online complaint and took the necessary steps to halt the fraudulent transaction. Sandeep notified the concerned bank, which then blocked the transfer of the funds. As a result, the entire amount was refunded to the woman on July 25th.
