HP has revealed a new virtual reality display called the HP Zvr display is said to reduce the barrier between real space and a virtual environment. It “provides for an immersive, real-time exploration and manipulation of 3D content.” It is powered by Z Technologies and is another example of HP’s blended reality which allows for users to express themselves without limitation. Users get to experience a real-time,high definition 3D interface that is combined with full motion parallax and direct interaction, allowing for a seamless experience. There is the option to display the 3D objects on to a 2D screen via the HP zView solution. There are Dual-Link DVI ports that connect to a HP Z workstation which makes it easy to connect to education, corporate and architectural content.
HP believes this display is useful for things like 'dissecting a virtual frog in science class' or 'exploring a workstation without leaving your desk.' The Zvr boasts of a 23.6-inch Full-HD display at a native resolution of 1920×1080, with Anti-Glare technology. It has an aspect ratio of 16:9. There are three USB 2.0 ports for input and the Zvr also boasts of Plug-n-Play technology. The Zvr goes on sale starting at US$4,999.
