Using the component video output of the Philips MCD515 is harder than it should be. If you just connect a component video cable from the MCD515 to your TV, you’ll get a picture with the colors distorted. To get the component video outputs working correctly, you need to make a change in the menu. To do this, first press the System button on the remote. After the menu pops up, press right twice on the directional pad to get to the Video Setup menu. Press down once to get to the Component setting, then press right once and select the “Pr/Cr Pb/Cb Y” option and hit OK on the remote. The picture should change to a more natural color scheme. Just press System again to exit the menu, and you’re set.
