iPhone users security risk
A division of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued an advisory that Apple users should take note of. It has issued a “high” security risk alert for users of Apple products.
The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) recently notified Apple users to take into consideration a “high” security risk alert. As per the CERT-in website, Apple devices carry various loopholes that can be compromised if left unattended. This could further make Apple devices more vulnerable to theft of user data.

They revealed that the browser engine, Webkit, that Safari and other browsers use was spotted having major security concerns. This should be a reason for concern for Apple users, especially those using iPhones and Apple Watch.
In its official notice, CERT-In said, “Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Apple products which could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code, escalation of privileges or bypass security restrictions on the targeted system”.
The vulnerabilities on Webkit could be really helpful to attackers. The attackers can easily divert the users into clicking on and visiting malicious websites or even downloading questionable files. Once this is done, it gives attackers access to the user’s personal information and files. Plus, they could even install viruses on your device.
The notice suggests, “Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code, escalation of privileges or bypass security restrictions on the targeted system.” Users should remain extra careful while browsing and clicking on random links.
Mostly this issue has been spotted on iOS version 16.7. and the ones before it. Hence, it is recommended that Apple users update their devices immediately.
