HCL has introduced a new Android tablet under its Me Tab-series. The new tablet, called HCL Me Champ Tab, is available via online retailer Snapdeal.com for Rs. 7,399.
The new HCL tablet is aimed at children as it features ‘infotainment content’. It also comes with a control mechanism to help parents monitor their children. The Me Champ Tab has a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen with 800×480 pixels resolution. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and is powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor along with 1GB of RAM.
The Me Champ Tab sports a 2MP rear and 0.3MP front camera. It has 4GB built-in storage and supports additional 32GB storage via microSD. In terms of connectivity, the slate supports 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi and USB (it does not support Bluetooth and GPS). The tablet comes with a 3,100 mAh battery.
It’s not the first educational tablet from HCL. Last year, the company had launched the HCL ME Tab U1 at Rs. 7,999. The tablet sports a 7-inch screen, dated ICS OS, 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB built-in storage. The Me Tab U1 is currently available online for Rs. 4999.
