Google’s Veo AI Video Model now available for businesses: Check features, capabilities

Google has officially introduced Veo, its generative AI video model for businesses. The new model will allow businesses to create high-quality, AI-generated videos. Announced back in May, it has beaten OpenAI Sora by being available in private preview via Google’s Vertex AI platform.

The new Veo model offers a new tool for content creators by generating 1080p resolution videos from text or image-based prompts and can offer clips in a wide range of cinematic styles.

The tech giant shared a variety of examples including a dog looking at the camera and wagging its tail. According to The Verge, there’s no specific restrictions on the video length in the preview release but the previous announcements mention it could last beyond a minute.

Not only that, Google’s Imagen 3, the text-to-image generator will be available via Google Cloud’s Vertex platform next week. It also includes new features like prompt-based photo editing and even allows users to incorporate their own branding elements into the generated images. Together, these tools expand the creative capabilities of businesses using the AI in marketing and content strategies.

Veo has a lot of new features, but it probably has some drawbacks. Google does, however, have built-in protections to reduce dangerous content and stop copyright violations. Furthermore, DeepMind’s SynthID technology, a digital watermark intended to address misinformation and misattribution issues, is included into all movies and images produced by Veo and Imagen 3.

On the other hand, OpenAI’s own video generation model Sora is yet to launch in the age where companies are already adopting AI for content creation. In fact, as per Google, 86 per cent of the organisations currently using generative AI report increased revenue, indicating the growing impact of these technologies.
