Google's latest Chrome Canary build comes with a hidden endless runner game that can be played only when you are offline.

Google's latest Chrome Canary comes with a hidden endless runner game that can only be accessed offline. The game can be spotted currently on the desktop version, though the Internet giant may roll it across all versions of Chrome, including on Android and iOS later.

Google open-source Chromium evangelist François Beaufort first spotted the error page. The game is only accessible when the browser detects you’re offline, and are on the ‘Unable to connect to the Internet’ error page. You will be able to see a T-Rex created by Google designer Sebastien Gabriel on the page. The T-Rex will start running and jumping over cacti once you tap the space bar on your keyboard. Like any other endless runner game the goal is to run as fast as you can before you crash.

The game tracks your progress with a high score count, including beeps of celebration upon every 100 points you make. However, your score will disappear once you connect to the internet and refresh the page. The game seems like a fun way to fill the time when you are disconnected to the internet.

The endless running game is a classic genre which has recently been revived on mobile devices. Games like Subway surfer and Temple Run have gained a lot of popularity in the last few year.

Recently Google updated Chrome v37 for Android with Material Design makeover. The update brings automatic sign in into Google related sites, improvements and the regular bug fixes.
