Google’s June Android security patch now available for Pixel and Nexus devices
The Android June 2018 security update can be downloaded and installed. A total of 57 issues were resolved with this month’s patches.
Google has released the June 2018 security update for Pixel and Nexus devices. The Google device firmware images of the update are now available online for people who want to manually install the update on their smartphones.
Information on the latest over-the-air update (OTA) and firmware images for Google devices is available in the June 2018 Pixel / Nexus Security Bulletin that can be accessed here.
The entire Pixel line-up which includes the Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are eligible for the update. In case of Nexus devices, the 6P and 5X will receive the update.
Google has already made it clear that the 6P and 5X will not receive the Android P update but will be eligible for security updates till November this year.
According to the listing, 20 issues have been resolved in the June security patch dated 2018-06-01 and 37 for 2018-06-05. The total 57 vulnerabilities fall under the bracket of high to critical. Google said that it had no reports of active customer exploitation or abuse of the newly reported issues.
