TalkBack, Android’s screen reader designed for individuals who are blind or have low vision, will now make digital images even more accessible with detailed audio descriptions powered by Gemini models on supported devices. Whether you’re viewing product images online, photos in your camera roll, pictures in text messages, or social media posts, Android’s screen reader leverages Google AI to vividly describe the images, making them more accessible and bringing them to life.
Listen to web pages in Chrome
For those who prefer listening over reading, you can now listen to pages in Chrome — from blog posts to recipes to the latest news articles. It’s worth noting that you can even choose your preferred listening speed, type of voice and language.

Offline maps on Wear OS watches
Navigate without cell service using offline maps on your Wear OS smartwatch. By downloading a map to your phone, you can access it directly through Google Maps on your watch, allowing you to find your way even if you don’t have your phone with you. Plus, with two new Google Maps shortcuts, you can easily search for destinations using voice commands when you’re back online or view your location with a simple tap on your watch face.
