Last year, Google introduced NotebookLM, an AI-powered research and writing assistant. Now, the tech giant has announced that it is bringing an upgraded version of NotebookLM — now using Gemini 1.5 Pro — to over 200 countries and territories around the world.
In a blogpost, Google mentions that the company’s goal from the beginning with NotebookLM has been to create a tool to help people understand and explore complex material, make new connections from information and get to their first draft faster.

Users can upload sources — their research notes, interview transcripts, corporate documents, and more — and instantly NotebookLM becomes an expert in the material, the tech giant said.

The upgraded NotebookLM introduces several new features:
When you first access NotebookLM, you’ll create a notebook and upload documents for a specific project or deliverable. It’s worth noting that with NotebookLM, the sources you upload are not used to train the model.
