Google has announced that it is bringing a new feature to its image search. Called badges, the new feature will show a relevant badge to each image, which would indicate the type of content from where the image taken from. For example, the user will be able to discern if the image is from a recipe, a video or even if it is a GIF. This new feature is available on the Google app for Android and the mobile web.
“Google Image Search helps you surf shots of your favorite people, places and things as well as research products, destinations, dishes and styles. Now on the Google app for Android and mobile web, we’re adding relevant badges to images indicating what else you can discover with a single tap. These badges will help you uncover images where next steps or more in-depth information is available—everything from bags to buy, to recipes to try,” the company noted in its official blog.
A couple of month ago, it was reported that Google may be experimenting with a new, and faster Search widget for Chrome. The widget was first made available for Chrome Dev version 60, which is the developer variant of the company’s browser. Tapping the widget launches a search in Chrome Dev and displays search suggestions at once.
