Google Storage for Developers to offer 100GB storage at Rs. 8 per GB per month [Google I/O]

Google’s open-source dreams depend on the myriad developers that work individually or together at making them a reality. Google Storage for Developers, is virtual space for those dreamers, and is currently available only for limited number of developers in the United States. We expect it to open up though, as the “waitlist” grows.

Google describes the Google Storage for Developers as a “RESTful service for storing and accessing your data on Google’s infrastructure”. The benefits Google claims to offer reside in its scalable and high-performance cloud storage and security features. Developers can store or access to data from anywhere on the internet, manage metadata, be assured of data consistency, and get the advantage of such tools as a web-based storage manager and a open-source library and command line tool called GSUtil, apart from compatibility with existing libraries and tools.

Still in “preview” stages, Google Storage for Developers still allows for “up to 100 gigabytes per object and 1,000 buckets per account”. Complete pricing revealed below:
