HIGHLIGHTS

The Android Nougat 7.1.1 update is scheduled for select devices next month, and presents developer options already enabled on Pixel phones along with optimisations and bug fixes.

Google has rolled out the final update for Android 7.1 Developer Preview, adding developer features already available on the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones to other compatible phones, along with optimisations and bug fixes to ensure apps run smoothly and the upcoming Android Nougat 7.1.1 update can be rolled out, soon.

The final developer update will allow developers to optimise applications for the upcoming Android version. It includes the final interface and system behaviours of Android 7.1.1, and developers can begin optimising applications from now on. It also includes developer features and APIs introduced in the previous Developer Preview, and the complete available list can be found here.

The update, though, will only be rolled out to the Pixel C and Nexus 9 tablets, and Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P smartphones, alongside the Pixel and Pixel XL – Google's flagships for 2016. Initial word had suggested that the Nexus 6 may also be included in this update, but it has eventually been left out. However, it has been included in the list of devices scheduled to get the final build, and Android Nougat 7.1.1 will hit these devices by next month.

For all Pixel and Nexus users with the devices mentioned above, keep a look out for the latest updates that will hit your devices, soon!
