Google has announced the launch of a new Search feature called ‘Posts’. The announcement is part of Google’s constant effort to improve Search queries on the platform.

‘Posts’ are aimed at giving users of Google Search timely updates directly from the official source of the information, be it organisations, celebrities, shows, movies and more. ‘Posts’ will be seen in the collection of cards within Google’s Search results, also known as the Knowledge Panel.

So when users search for queries like Indian Super League or Tiger Zinda Hai hey will see verified updates directly from the source. Users will also see videos, GIFs, events, and polls posted directly by the person or organisation being searched for, in addition to description, news articles, tweets and links.

“So from Tarla Dalal to Bigg Boss, and from Shraddha Kapoor to Chetan Bhagat, your favourite celebrities, shows and movies is simply a Search query away. Just do a search, and find updates from your favorite celebrities, brands and organizations,” Google writes in a press release.

Google is also encouraging celebrities and known personalities to get verified for ‘Posts’ so that their latest updates show up directly in Google Search. Those looking to get verified for Google ‘Posts’ can head here and do so.

Those interested in getting verified by Google for ‘Posts’ can do a Google search for the name they want to claim, click on the little sentence under the Knowledge Panel (Search result) asking to manage the online presence, and follow the instructions.

Posting is currently open in some categories and in some countries, which now includes India.

Google recently enhanced Featured Snippets and Knowledge Panels on Google Search to make information easily discoverable. Featured Snippets and the Knowledge Panel on Google Search now show additional images and related search results to improve content discoverability.
