OK, so this one is not one of Google’s usual big innovations, but interesting nonetheless.
Google has developed a new application for their Android OS, called Listen, which they unveiled yesterday in their
Google Mobile Blog.
Google Listen for Android allows you to search for podcasts and other audio on the web, and store and organize it on your Android phone. The audio you find can be streamed over the air, or downloaded for listening to it later. The tool can also subscribe you to podcasts feeds, to get content automatically.
With this app you can manage and listen to your podcasts on the move, and save time in the process. This is a Google Labs project, and as such is still in beta, whatever that means with Google products. For some reason this is only available in the US currently.
Got an Android phone? You can get this application from the Android store, or its
page on Google Labs.
