Ratan Tata, one of India’s most beloved and respected industrialists, recently passed away at the age of 86, leaving a deep void in the hearts of millions. He was not only known for his business leadership, Tata’s influence went far beyond the corporate world. As the former chairman of Tata Sons, he built the Tata Group into a global giant while staying true to values like integrity, excellence, and innovation. His dedication to the betterment of society made him a cherished figure across the country.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai joined the countless voices honouring Ratan Tata. In a heartfelt post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Pichai reflected on his last meeting with Tata, highlighting the visionary mindset that made Tata a standout leader. He recalled their conversation about the advancements in Waymo, Google’s self-driving car project, and praised Tata’s forward-thinking approach.

Pichai wrote, “He leaves an extraordinary business and philanthropic legacy and was instrumental in mentoring and developing the modern business leadership in India. He deeply cared about making India better.” The Google CEO also expressed his sincere condolences to Tata’s loved ones, emphasising the profound impact the industrialist had on the world of business and beyond.

Ratan Tata’s passing has left the nation in mourning. He was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai in critical condition, where he passed away. His death has sent waves of sorrow across India.

N Chandrasekaran, the current chairman of Tata Sons, confirmed the news of Tata’s passing in an official statement. He described Tata as an “uncommon leader” whose influence stretched far beyond business, shaping the very “fabric of our nation.” Under Tata’s leadership, the Tata Group expanded its reach across various industries, all while upholding its core values.

Chandrasekaran also reflected on Tata’s significant philanthropic work, highlighting his contributions to education, healthcare, and social development. “His initiatives have left a deep-rooted mark that will benefit generations to come,” he said.

As news of Ratan Tata’s death spread, tributes poured in from all corners of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in honouring his memory, while top business leaders like Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, Anand Mahindra, and Harsh Goenka also shared their heartfelt condolences.
