Google today celebrated Children’s Day with an interesting doodle depicting India’s diversity and culture. The doodle has been designed by Arun Kumar Yadav, a class 9 student of Kendriya Vidyalaya from Chandigarh. Arun is the winner of this year’s Doodle 4 Google India 2012 contest.
Today’s doodle, titled “A prism of Multiplicity” features a soccer player, a Kathakali dancer, some jewellery, a peacock, a farmer and flowers. Take a look at the award-winning doodle below:
Google recently announced the list of shortlisted students for the contest. This year, Google received 200,000 submissions from 60 Indian cities for the Doodle 4 Google contest. The contest was judged by a two-member jury including cartoonist Ajit Ninan and actor Boman Irani.
Google has also declared the category winners of the competition. Category Winners: Class 1-3: Vasudevan Deepak, Devgiri CMI Public School, Calicut The Great Banyan. Class 4-7: Shravya Manjunath, Mitra Academy, Bangalore Unity in dance disperses vibrant colours. Class 8-10: S. Preetham Paul, Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, T.P.T.
