Google has announced two new features for Bard. The new features are better email summarisation and image sharing. For those who are unaware, Bard is an AI chatbot which Google launched earlier this year.

Google has announced the new features on Bard’s “Experiment updates” page.

Google said that when you use the Workspace Extension, Bard can now summarise more emails at a time. With the latest update, the AI chatbot can also better understand when you ask for recent emails.

The tech giant also announced support for uploaded images for shared conversations. With this feature, when you share a conversation that has an image as part of the prompt, the image will also be visible.

Now that others will be able to see the image you used in your prompt, they will be able to better appreciate your creative process and continue the conversation with Bard in their own way.

Recently, it was reported that Google had started working to bring a “Memory” feature to the Bard chatbot.  With this feature, Bard is expected to remember important details about you and your preferences. A similar feature was announced by OpenAI for ChatGPT earlier this year in the form of “custom instructions.”

On the Memory page, which is expected to be accessible from the left-side menu, you will likely have the option to add new preferences. It is expected that this page will also provide the capability to remove memories that are inaccurate or unwanted. To safeguard your privacy, you will also likely have the ability to quickly and easily deactivate Bard’s Memory feature by using a toggle located on the left side of the screen. This is expected to make it easier to initiate conversations that do not rely on past interactions, perhaps for showcasing Bard to a friend or discussing topics you would rather the chatbot not remember for future interactions.
